Friends of Library

Become a volunteer at the library by joining the Friends of the Cold Lake Public Library. There is no membership fee. All that is required is an interest in the library, the willingness to share creative ideas, and the initiative to undertake projects which will help fund projects in the library. If you do not wish to join the Friends, but can contribute by working some Bingo's for them, please call Marilyn Fitzpatrick at 780-594-3858.
 

Meetings

The Friends meet the third Thursday of the month at 1:30 in the Grand Centre Branch. Please contact Mary Anne Penner at 780-594-8828 for more information.

 

Teen Tech Squad

Thank-you to Cenovus Energy for donating $10,000 to Teen Tech Squad.

Teen Tech Squad is a teen led computer tech program held at the Grand Centre Branch that experiments with a variety of interesting technologies and software. At Teen Tech Squad everyone is welcome to share their knowledge of computer technologies or knowledge of computer programs you come across! Ages 12-18.

Chooseday Tuesdays (5:30-7:30 pm): Sit back and enjoy the world of technology during this supervised, unstructured recreation time using the computer lab.

Tech-No Talk Thursdays (5:30 to 7:30 pm): Participate in a youth led technology showcase that exhibits various forms of technology from the past, present, and even the possible future.

Cyber Saturdays (noon to 2:00 pm): Disassemble. reassemble, and/or repair laptops, computers, and related hardware. On the software side, various programs and the skills to use the related applications will be explored.

Service Canada at the Library

Service Canada will be providing outreach services to the public at the Grand Centre Branch on Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (closed from noon to 12:30 p.m.) They will offer information on topics such as Social Insurance Numbers, the Canadian Pension Plan, Old Age Security, and Employment Insurance. If you need assistance or advice about federal programs and services, please stop by and see one of Service Canada's knowledgeable agents.
